Appraisal Event

Contemplating selling your antiques? Curious about the value of an old family heirloom? How much is that rare coin really worth? Bring in a trinket or treasure for a free appraisal by a trained professional from Rago Arts and Auction Center! Experts will employ the same skills they utilize on the Antiques Roadshow to give you insights on an item's value.

Registration required (please use the link below). Limited Space. No walk-ins. Event registrants may arrive as early as 4:30pm to check-in.
*While registrants may bring multiple items, due to time limitations, appraisal of only one item per registrant is guaranteed. Please do not bring firearms or weapons. Contact the Information Services Desk for additional details and restrictions.

A percentage of the sale for any consignment that results from the appraisal event will go to the library.

Rago Appraiser Bios

Mick Byers

 

Mick Byers, who began with Rago in 2006, works with the Fine Art department and, more broadly, in outreach. He is a specialist in the work of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Impressionists and Modernists and a longstanding member of the arts community, with ties to private collectors and dealers throughout the region. Mr. Byers can evaluate and inform clients about many types of art, as well as European and American antiques and the works of the Pennsylvania studio craftsmen, which makes him invaluable at Rago Free Walk-in Appraisal Days, on client calls, and at previews.

 

Lauren Cronk

 

Lauren Cronk is the cataloguer of the Jewelry Department. Having begun her career in December of 2013 with RAGO, her passion for design, aesthetic and historical context has led her to fine and antique jewelry. She is a member of the American Society of Jewelry Historians and a graduate of The College of New Jersey.

 

Christopher Wise

 

Christopher Wise directs the Coins and Currency department and oversees sales of silver, Militaria and ephemera. Chris, who joined Rago in 2006 as a Junior Specialist in the silver department, began buying and selling antique tools, coins, currency, firearms, ephemera and silver while in his early twenties. He is a member of the American Numismatic Association, the Silver Society and the American Numismatics Society. He is also an auctioneer for Rago.

 

Gina Tomasello

 

Gina Tomasello directs the Great Estates and ReMix auction, Gina joined Rago in early 2016, having begun her career at Alderfer Auction in Pennsylvania. There she ran the Specialty Auction division including quarterly Fine & Decorative Arts sales. She graduated from Penn State University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s of Art degree in Art History.
