Sensory Storytime

Sensory Storytimes are a thirty-minute interactive storytime for children on a preschool level. After storytime, join us for thirty minutes of monitored social play including toys aimed at improving fine & gross motor skills.

These storytimes are ideal for children who are differently abled - they may be on the autism spectrum, have sensory processing issues, or feel overwhelmed by noises or crowds. Due to the nature of this program, registration will be open to up to ten children and their families per storytime

Sensory Storytime uses preschool-level books, songs, and activities to engage all five senses in developing emerging literacy, social interaction, and both gross and fine motor skills.  Fidget toys and weighted pads will be made available, and children are encouraged to bring their favorite lovey, toy, or fidget.

If your child has difficulty sitting through a traditional storytime, this inclusive program of stories, songs, and activities may be just what you are looking for.

This sensory storytime session will run for 10 weeks and occur at the same time on Thursday mornings.

Miss Elizabeth & Miss Nicole will be hosting Sensory Storytimes from 11:30AM-12:30PM on the following dates: 01/04, 01/11, 01/18, 01/25, 02/01, 02/08, 02/15, 02/22, 03/01 and 03/08.
