Sensory Storytimes are a thirty-minute interactive storytime for children on a preschool level. These storytimes are ideal for children on the autism spectrum, with sensory processing issues, or who feel overwhelmed by noises or crowds.
Sensory Storytimes use preschool-level books, songs, and activities to engage all five senses in developing emerging literacy, social interaction, and both gross and fine motor skills. Fidget toys and weighted pads will be made available, and children are encouraged to bring their favorite lovey, toy, or fidget.
After storytime, join us for thirty minutes of monitored social play including toys aimed at improving fine & gross motor skills.
Due to the nature of this program, registration will be open to up to ten children and their families per storytime.
