90 Second Newbery

Let’s make a movie! We'll be turning the Newbery Award winner from 2017, The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill into a 90 second flash movie. Children will act out scenes, create props, and have fun making a movie! Register for the program starting on May 31st and stop by the Information Services desk to pick up your very own copy of the book (1 book per family).

For children entering grades 4-7. We ask that participants try to commit to at least half of the sessions for filming purposes.

*Children will be given photo release forms prior to filming. Children who do not have these filled out can still participate, but they will not be on camera.

What is 90 Second Newbery?

90 Second Newbery is annual video contest in which young filmmakers create weird short movies that tell the entire stories of Newbery-winning books in about a minute and a half. Anyone can enter! For more information or to view submissions including ours from last year go to http://90secondnewbery.com/
