Winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture, On the Waterfront (1954) is about a washed-up boxer turned longshoreman, who struggles under the constant pressure of the organized-crime syndicate that controls the docks on which he works. 

Including Best Picture, the film won eight Oscars, including Actor (Marlon Brando), Supporting Actress (Eva Marie Saint) and Director (Elia Kazan).
