Advanced Screening & Discussion: PBS Documentary "Free for All: The Public Library"

In celebration of National Library Week (April 6-12), BCFL, in partnership with WHYY, is excited to present an advanced screening of the upcoming PBS documentary, Free for All: The Public Library, from filmmakers Dawn Logsdon (Director, Producer, Editor) and Lucie Faulknor (Co-Director, Producer). The film is scheduled to premiere on PBS April 29th but you can watch it at the library early -- for free.

Free for All: The Public Library tells the story of the quiet revolutionaries who made a simple idea happen. From the pioneering women behind the "Free Library Movement" to today's librarians who serve the public in times of great change, meet those who created a civic institution where everything is free and the doors are open to all.

The film will be followed by a discussion between BCFL staff that will explore their role and their personal experiences with libraries.

Total Run Time: 60 minutes. Post-film Discussion: 30 minutes. Seating is limited.

This program is part of BCFL's Knowledge for Life: Adult Learning Series.

This program is offered by Bucks County Free Library in support of the PA Forward | Pennsylvania Libraries initiative. Libraries are key to powering progress and elevating the quality of life in PA by fueling the types of knowledge essential to success: Basic Literacy, Information Literacy, Civic and Social Literacy, Health Literacy, and Financial Literacy
