To celebrate the country's 250th anniversary, the library is hosting a series titled America250PA focusing on local history. Amy Hollander of the Bucks County Parks & Recreation Department will talk on the Bucks County Committee of Observation. The Committee was tasked with enforcing non-importation agreements, organizing and recruiting local militia or Associators, collecting supplies, and acting like the county's legislative/executive power until the 1776 Pennsylvania Constitution made them obsolete. Key figures included Joseph Hart, Northampton resident Henry Wynkoop, John Kidd, and James Wallace.

There will be no salespeople present, no forms to complete, and the presenter will not receive a list of program attendees.

This program fulfills the Civic and Social Literacy for PaLA's PA Forward Gold Star program.
