Learn how to use the Bloxels app/website to build your very own video games from Mr. Jason of Bright Idea Makers. Mr. Jason will show participants how to make characters, change their abilities, create enemies, create levels, create art & backgrounds, decorating their levels, warps, locked doors, and publishing their games.

Typically, at other locations, it has been a one-off program. I get them started with showing them the basics and then encourage them to keep making on their own for 30 days, showing them a YouTube tutorials playlist. After the 30 days, I remove their seats from my block of available seats. And the kids' families can purchase the seat so they can continue to build. It's free to play Bloxel games, but you need a subscription to build your own and publish them.

It's free to play Bloxel games, but you need a subscription to build your own and publish them. Participants will have 30 days to continue to build their own video games using the library’s Bloxels subscription for free. After that time, families can purchase the seat so they can continue to build.

Open to children in grades 4-6. Kids can either bring their own device or use one of the library's.
