Jesse Bernstein, Producing Artistic Director of Theatre Ariel, Philadelphia's home for Jewish theatre, will discuss what makes a play "Jewish," and why staging Jewish stories authentically is crucial at this time.

Jesse Bernstein has over 35 years of experience in theatre, TV, and film. He has worked and taught all around the country. Locally, he has performed, written for, or directed at theatres such as The Walnut Street Theatre, Arden Theatre Company, Lantern Theater Company, and more. He became Theatre Ariel's Artistic Director in 2022.

This program is part of the Between Two Worlds series, which includes a variety of programming, including book discussions. This program fulfills the Information Literacy for PaLA's PA Forward Gold Star program. It is presented as part of the Yiddish Book Center's Public Libraries Program, in partnership with the ALA and funded by the Lilly Endowment, Inc.
