On June 21, 1877, ten men were executed in the Anthracite region of Pennsylvania in what came to be known as Black Thursday or the Day of the Rope. Accused of murder, kidnapping, arson, and other crimes, they were also accused of belonging to a secret organization known as the Molly Maguires. This program will explore who the Molly Maguires were, their motivations, actions, fate, and legacy.
