Sensory Storytime

Wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to participate in these interactive storytimes with your child. After a 30 minute storytime, join us for 30 minutes of monitored social play that includes toys aimed at improving fine & gross motor skills.

These storytimes are ideal for children who are differently abled - they may be on the autism spectrum, have sensory processing issues, or feel overwhelmed by noises or crowds.

Due to the nature of this program, registration will be open to up to ten children and their families per storytime.

Sensory Storytime uses preschool-level books, songs, and activities to engage all five senses in developing emerging literacy, social interaction, and both gross and fine motor skills. Fidget toys and weighted pads will be made available, and children are encouraged to bring their favorite lovey, toy, or fidget.

If your child has difficulty sitting through a traditional storytime, this inclusive program of stories, songs, and activities may be just what you are looking for.
