Self-Development Thursdays: Stewards of Children - Preventing Child Abuse
Event box
Join us for this important training presented by NOVA, the Network of Victim Assistance:
We have many tools that we use to keep children safe; wearing a bike helmet, looking both ways before crossing the street, etc.. What tools do we have to protect children from sexual abuse? 1 in 10 children will be sexually abused before their 18th birthday but, a trained adult can protect an average of 10 children. Stewards of Children® is a prevention training that teaches adults how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. This training features real people and empowering experiences of protecting children from sexual abuse. The training conveys a five-step approach to prevent child sexual abuse through an audio visual presentation and supplemental workbook. Participants will leave this training feeling better prepared to protect the children in their lives and communities.
Open to all adult members of the public, and there is no registration required.
