If you missed this event at the theater, you are invited to join us for the screening of 227 Days in Space, a film of former NASA astronaut Daniel Bursch’s presentation at the Bristol Riverside Theatre. Drop by on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 6:00 pm – 7:45 pm at the Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library, 680 Radcliffe Street, Bristol to view the edited presentation. Light refreshments will be served; no registration is required for this free family event.

 

Born in Bristol, Pennsylvania and raised in Vestal, New York, Daniel W. Bursch, a former Naval Officer and NASA Astronaut, serves in one of the advisor positions in the Space Systems Academic Group at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS).

 

Dan Bursch was a Naval Flight Officer and graduate student at NPS before his selection as an astronaut in 1990.  Dan completed four missions to space, the most recent one as a member of the Expedition-Four crew to the International Space Station (ISS) from December 2001 to June 2002.

 

The Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library in collaboration with NASA @ My Library and STARnet (Science-Technology Activities & Resources for Libraries) offers this program in support of STEM education. All Grundy Library programming supports the PA Forward | Pennsylvania Libraries initiative.  Libraries are key to powering progress and elevating the quality of life in PA by fueling the types of knowledge essential to success: Basic Literacy, Information Literacy, Civic and Social Literacy, Health Literacy, and Financial Literacy.
