From the Battle of Vicksburg to the end of the war, Grant was Lincoln’s man. The General’s responsibilities were overwhelming as were the President’s. Acting decisively yet ruffling few feathers in Washington, Grant helped win The Civil War by following his military instinct, his training, and the President.  General Grant and President Lincoln were both pragmatists – willing to do whatever was necessary to win the war.

Ulysses S. Grant, portrayed by living historian Ken Serfass, will lecture on his unique friendship with President Lincoln. Free. Made possible through the generosity of the Friends of the Library. Please register.
