Fifty years ago on July 16th, 1969, Apollo 11 was launched.  Join us on this anniversary to listen to a talk given by Gregory P. Kennedy.  This talk will highight the world events that led to the decision to go to the moon and the technologies that needed to be developed. Particular attention will be given to the "Space Race" between the United States and Soviet Union.

 Gregory P. Kennedy is an internationally known space historian and writer. He is a former Associate Curator for Manned Space Flight at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D. C. and was Director of the International Space Hall of Fame in Alamogordo, NM. He has authored 8 books on rocketry and spaceflight and has delivered presentations at international space history and education conferences.
