Former Warminster resident and 1974 alumnus of William Tennent High School, Ron Melchiore will be returning to the area Saturday, October 19th at 1:30 to do a presentation at the Warminster library. Ron has lived an unconventional, adventurous life and his presentation will be about his chosen lifestyle living off-grid for the past 39 years. Ron homesteaded in Maine for 20 years before he and his wife moved to a remote lake deep in the Canadian wilderness which was accessible only by float plane. They shopped twice a year which was the only time they saw other people. Ron has winter thru hiked all 2100+ miles of the Appalachian Trail, bicycled across the United States from coast to coast, survived the touch of a bear and once was surrounded by forest fire. Ron's message is a simple one - follow your dreams. There will be a short video, a reading from his book Off Grid and Free: My Path to the Wilderness followed by questions and answers. All are invited for an adventure filled presentation.
