Join us for the second in a Career Development Series: Resume Writing, provided by the YWCA.

Finding the right words, sculpting the most eye-catching bullet points, and using an appropriate format when creating a resume can be tricky.  This workshop will first define the purpose of a resume and discuss how employers utilize them throughout the hiring process.  We will then cover the most effective resume practices, common mistakes that can take perspective employees out of the running, and how to create a resume using a template.

Our instructor is Jessica Gershenfeld.  Jessica is a graduate from Temple University with her B.S. in Human Development and Community Engagement. Currently, she is a case manager at the YWCA Bucks County where she works with individuals and families to help them become self-sufficient by gaining employment and increasing their income. She works with people of all ages while using a diverse approach tailored to the unique needs of each client.  Jessica is able to provide guidance to members of the Bucks County community through workshops and individual sessions and draws on participants strengths to help them overcome challenges, and thrive . Providing employment, housing, and family services to people in need has been one of the most rewarding experiences of her professional career and she is enthusiastic to see what the future holds.

This program is a PA Forward Program, with a focus on Basic and Civic & Social Literacies.
