Join us for the first in a Career Development Series: Job Search Strategies, provided by the YWCA.

A common misconception while job searching is that cover letters are a thing of the past.  For some employers, this may be true, but for many a cover letter will set one candidate apart from another.  It is important to understand how to craft one when deemed appropriate.  In this workshop you will learn the purpose of a cover letter and how they complement a resume along with best practices and common cover letter errors to avoid.

Our instructor is Jessica Gershenfeld.  Jessica is a graduate from Temple University with her B.S. in Human Development and Community Engagement. Currently, she is a case manager at the YWCA Bucks County where she works with individuals and families to help them become self-sufficient by gaining employment and increasing their income. She works with people of all ages while using a diverse approach tailored to the unique needs of each client.  Jessica is able to provide guidance to members of the Bucks County community through workshops and individual sessions and draws on participants strengths to help them overcome challenges, and thrive . Providing employment, housing, and family services to people in need has been one of the most rewarding experiences of her professional career and she is enthusiastic to see what the future holds.

This program is a PA Forward Program, with a focus on Basic and Civic & Social Literacies.
