Emotional Impact of Job Loss & Unemployment Stress: 10:00AM - 2:00PM

Call it what you want, being laid off, downsized, getting dismissed or fired, receiving your pink slip or walking papers, losing your job hurts. Job loss often ranks among the highest in stress on a list of life-altering events such as a death in the family, divorce, and serious illness. George will talk about the stress of losing a job and the profound effect it can have on your emotional well-being and your sense of worth. There is a typical cycle that most people experience when they go through the loss of a job. This includes denial, anger, frustration, and eventually adaptation.

George will identify how to build your self-confidence, ways to take care of yourselves, and what you can focus on. He will leave with an action plan to help you with your next steps. Attend this workshop and you will learn how to:

• Allow yourself to grieve.

• Find ways to stay strong.

• Involve your family for support.

• Get moving to relieve stress.

• Eat well to keep your focus.

• Take care of yourself.

• Stay positive to keep up your energy.

• Look ahead and what to focus on to land a new position.

Remember – No matter how difficult it may be - the most important thing is to take control of yourself and look forward to your next opportunity- because you never know what doors this turn of events may open for you.
