Networking is not about finding a job!! Professional networking is about making contacts and cultivating relationships that can lead to positions or other work-related opportunities.

Your network is your most valuable career asset! (Far more important than a résumé) Any expert will tell you that networking is one of the best ways to enhance your career. Approximately 92% of all positions are never posted but filled through word of mouth or networking. The probability of a job opening not being advertised increases with the level of the position. Yet, even with all this knowledge, most job seekers fail to fully utilize networking for all its worth.
