Bucks County History with Recorder of Deeds, Robin Robinson

Online

Presented by the Warminster Historical Society.

Bucks County Recorder of Deeds, Robin Robinson, will discuss how she found the old deed books, dating back to 1684, rotting away in a county warehouse.  She will speak about how these deed books have been preserved by a company called, Kofile, and the history that has been found in them.

The Recorder of Deeds is tasked with maintaining the property records for Bucks County, which is why this project is so important.  In the process of preserving these books, the office has found an abundance of historical property information dating back to William Penn.  Besides finding deed books, miscellaneous books were also found.  These books contain information on the enslaved people of Bucks County, which Robin will provide the significance of in her presentation.

Following the discussion of how the deed books were persevered, Robin will share some of the research the office has done on historical properties in Bucks County.
