Oceans of Possibilities: Exploring Coral Reefs

Join us when Dana Wusinich-Mendez, Atlantic and Caribbean Management Team Lead for NOAAs Coral Reef Conservation Program, presents virtually on coral reefs as part of the Grundy Library's 2022 Summer Quest: Oceans of Possibilities series of events. Appropriate for persons 10-plus years, this event delves into the structure of coral, where coral can be found, the importance of coral to the health of planet Earth, and more!   

This event is taking place over Zoom.

Ms. Wusinich-Mendez has been working with NOAA for 20 years to support the efforts of coral reef resource managers in Florida, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands and to build capacity for the effective management of marine protected areas in the Wider Caribbean region. She earned a Master’s degree in Coastal Environmental Management at Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment and a Bachelor’s in Science at the University of Richmond. Dana grew up in Chester County Pennsylvania and now lives in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida with her husband Emilio and son Mateo.
