SUMMARY:Digital Discoverers
DESCRIPTION:Dive into new apps\, robotics toys\, and coding technology in 
 this hands-on program. Children will explore a variety of educational 
 digital media and evaluate these media resources for themselves. Some apps 
 are geared toward younger children with the intent that participants will 
 evaluate if these are good for the age group suggested. For children 
 entering grades 2-5. \n\nJune 24: STEM\n\nJuly 8: Music\n\nJuly 22: Nature 
 and Art\n\nAugust: 5: Storytelling\n\nSince 2010 children have more 
 exposure to new digital media such as tablets\, smartphones\, and 
 computers. Because of this increased exposure\, it has become incredibly 
 important for youth librarians to embrace the role of "Media Mentor." This 
 program will help children evaluate new technology and think critically 
 about the technology they use every day. \n
